What to Expect from the Profformance Online Peer Learning Programme: Timeline, Structure, and How to Prepare

The Profformance Online Peer Learning Programme is a flexible, self-paced professional development opportunity designed to support higher education staff in improving their courses through student-centred approaches. Although participants can progress independently, the programme is structured into clear thematic phases that are strongly recommended to follow in sequence in order to maximise learning impact and peer exchange.

This article outlines the programme structure, key milestones, and practical guidance for effective participation.

Thematic Learning Journey

The programme is organised into four consecutive thematic phases, each addressing a key area in contemporary higher education:

Period Focus Area
17–30 April Digitalisation
1–15 May Internationalisation
15–29 May Inclusion
29 May–12 June Sustainability

Each phase includes learning materials, practical tasks, quizzes, and opportunities for discussion and expert input. While participants may work at their own pace, following the sequence is recommended, as each topic builds on the previous one.

Expert Support Sessions

Optional live online consultations are available throughout the programme. These sessions provide targeted support for applying course content to teaching practice and course design work.

Digitalisation

  • 17 April, 13:30–14:30
  • 23 April, 09:00–10:30

Internationalisation

  • 4 May, 14:00
  • 11 May, 14:00

Inclusion

  • 15 May, 11:00
  • 20 May, 14:00

Sustainability

  • 1 June, 10:00
  • 8 June, 10:00

Participation is optional but strongly recommended, as these sessions offer valuable feedback and clarification.

Final Stage

Between 12 and 30 June, participants complete final tasks, finalise their work, and submit remaining assignments. This period focuses on consolidation and completion of course development activities.

Certification and Opportunities

Participants who meet the requirements receive a Certificate of Participation.

The most active participants will be invited to an in-person workshop in Budapest (27–29 October), including accommodation and catering. Travel costs remain the responsibility of participants.

How to Prepare

To make the most of the programme, participants are encouraged to:

  • Follow the thematic sequence to support structured learning progression
  • Engage regularly rather than concentrating work at the end of each phase
  • Join discussion forums early to benefit from peer exchange
  • Attend expert consultations whenever possible for targeted support
  • Keep brief notes throughout to support final completion tasks

Consistent engagement helps ensure not only successful completion, but also more meaningful improvements in teaching practice.
