Previous calls
In 2024, the PROFFORMANCE+ consortium announced the second PROFFORMANCE International Higher Education Teacher Award Call in partner countries: Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Georgia, Hungary, and Serbia. The application period closed on 17 December 2024. The awardees have been announced at the online event, Teacher Power!, on 4 June 2025 and got their trophy and certificate 16 October 2025, Budapest at the final event of PROFFORMANCE+ project, titled "PROFFORMANCE Simulation Game - Stakeholder meet-up".
The purpose of this Award was to identify, acknowledge, and recognise excellent teaching practices and to provide opportunities not only for sharing and exchanging best examples but also to encourage cooperation between higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area.
The call was addressed to individuals or groups of individuals officially involved (with formal agreement) in the teaching process at state-recognised/accredited higher education institutions in the consortium partner countries.
The applications presented good practices following the call categories that have been implemented or are in process with justified outputs in the following academic years: 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24, and the fall term of 2024/25.

The awardees received the PROFFORMANCE teaching excellence prize with a certificate, and become members of the PROFFORMANCE professional network. They presented their best practices at the Teacher Power and PROFFORMANCE Simulation Game events and at various international professional forums.
Awardees’ best practices are presented in diverse publications, newsletters, websites including profformance.eu, and ware available at the PROFFORMANCE “best practices of teaching excellence” database at award.profformance.eu.
Contest for Higher Education Institutions
The PROFFORMANCE+ consortium announced the PROFFORMANCE Contest for Institutional Teaching Excellence as an additional contest among institutions in the PROFFORMANCE+ partner countries (Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Georgia, Hungary and Serbia).
The aim of the Contest for Higher Education Institutions to get the PROFFORMANCE Label of Teaching Excellence was multifold:
- To promote and give publicity and visibility to those institutions, where there are the most good practices to share with the wide public.
- To acknowledge efforts of higher education institutions for promoting and encouraging their teachers to submit their applications to the PROFFORMANCE – International Higher Education Teacher Award 2024/25
- To make teachers’ good practices of teaching excellence visible for the leadership and management of higher education institutions.
- To encourage higher education institutions to organize their own teacher awards in order to promote, identify, recognise good practices within the institutions.
Conditions for participation in the contest
Institutions from which at least 1 application arrived at the PROFFORMANCE Higher Education Teacher Award 2024/25 automatically participated in the Contest for Institutional Teaching Excellence, and winners of labels were selected based on the number and quality of applications.
Institutions did not need to, nor did they have the possibility to, directly apply. They could influence their results = number of great applications, by encouraging and promoting their teachers or teams to apply with an existing good practice of teaching excellence.
PROFFORMANCE Label of teaching excellence
The winning higher education institutions of the first PROFFORMANCE Contest for Institutional Teaching Excellence have been awarded the PROFFORMANCE Label of Teaching Excellence and have been given the opportunity to:
- Get the PROFFORMANCE Label of Teaching Excellence certificate issued by the PROFFORMANCE+ consortium.
- It have been communicated on the PROFFORMANCE website, LinkedIn, newsletter, and partners’ webpages.
- Communicated in partners’ newsletters – like the Academic Cooperation Association, European Students’ Union, etc.
- Announced at the final event of the PROFFORMANCE+ project.
- Be published in different events, platforms and products of the PROFFORMANCE + consortium.
