PROFFORMANCE Peer Learning Activity brings together an international community of higher education teachers

At the end of June, the "Upgrade your course: Make it truly student-centred" Online Peer Learning Activity (PLA), organised by the PROFFORMANCE team of Tempus Public Foundation, successfully concluded with strong international participation.

Over the course of three months, higher education teachers from across Europe worked on enhancing their own courses while exchanging experiences and good practices within an active international learning community.

Student-centred course development through peer learning

Running from April to June 2026, the online programme provided practical support for student-centred course development, focusing on four key priorities for European higher education: digitalisation, internationalisation, inclusion and sustainability. Participants progressed through the learning materials at their own pace and took part in thematic online consultations, where they received feedback from international experts and discussed their course development plans with peers from different countries. Owing to the high level of engagement, the submission deadline for the final assignments was extended, allowing more participants to successfully complete the programme and earn their certificate.

Continuing the learning journey in Budapest

The online programme marks an important milestone rather than the end of the learning journey. The most active participants will soon receive invitations to the PROFFORMANCE On-site Peer Learning Activity, taking place in Budapest from 27–29 October 2026. During the workshop, participants will present the courses they have developed, explore each other's approaches and receive further peer and expert feedback to refine their teaching practices.

The experience of the PLA highlights the value of international peer-learning opportunities that enable higher education teachers to exchange ideas, discuss shared challenges and learn from one another. The on-site workshop in Budapest will build on the online programme by strengthening professional networks and fostering future collaboration across institutions and countries.
