REPORT ON PROFFOMANCE+ WEBINAR ON SUSTAINABILITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Over 120 higher education teachers from the EHEA countries participated in the seventh PROFFORMANCE+ thematic webinar on Embedding Sustainability in Teaching and Learning held on the 8 October 2024.

Three projects from the PROFFORMANCE teaching excellence database on sustainable tourism, non-business marketing with local stakeholder engagement and the role of hackathons in entrepreneurial development were presented, with an additional Erasmus+ good practice example looking at raising awareness of architectural heritage.

These examples highlighted not only the pressing need for sustainability in higher education but also the imaginative ways in which educators were already meeting that challenge. Furthermore, the webinar featured a comprehensive introduction by the Serbian Ministry of Education to how sustainability was already being integrated into Serbian education, along with future plans, followed by a detailed overview of the Profformance+ project and tools with a special focus on sustainability. The webinar’s final session focused on the 2024/25 Profformance Teaching Excellence Award, with a dedicated Q&A for participants about the award.

Webinar recording and all of the presentations and materials are available on the dedicated page of the Profformance+ website.
